“ "The Kurukshetra War was a battle that took place in northern India. This war was fought between the Kaurava and the Pandava princes for succession to Hastinapur's throne. The followers of the two parties chose to identify themselves with either one of these sets of cousins, and felt like their supporters were righteous." ” Kurukshetra (Hindi: कुरुक्षेत्र, translation: “field of dharma”) is a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language epic historical period drama film written and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It was initially reported that the filming would be done in Rajasthan, but Bhansali later stated that it would be shot in Punjab instead.
